Something I noticed on American Twitter: Random strangers say “Thank you for your service” to veterans. In Japan we respect Self-Defense Forces but it’s quieter. Less public. Is that phrase something you say in airports, coffee shops, everyday life? Veterans — does it feel good, awkward, or both?
