A watchlist and a 2022 medal cannot both be right. Keep the revocation.
Biden-honored Iraqi official lands on US terror watchlist as Trump State Dept revokes visa
Blinken called her Iron Woman. Rubio's shop pulled the visa. The watchlist does not do award ceremonies.
Summary
- Fox News, First on Fox, reports the State Department this week revoked the U.S. visa of Taif Sami Mohammed, Iraq's former finance minister, and says she is on the U.S. terrorist watchlist and believed to be outside Iraq.
- In 2022 the Biden State Department gave her the International Women of Courage Award. Antony Blinken called her Iraq's Iron Woman for stopping bribes and payroll padding.
- Reps. Joe Wilson and Greg Steube had already branded her a key enabler of terrorist financing through Iraq's financial system and pressed for sanctions.
- Assistant Secretary Dylan Johnson said the Trump State Department revokes visas for people who threaten the country instead of celebrating them. An Iraqi court put her on a wanted list on Aug. 9, 2025, in a corruption probe. That listing is an allegation, not a verdict.
Commentary
A Cleveland shift still punches a badge at a plant that already lost a contract to a Baghdad middleman. He does not get a medal if a finance minister later shows up on a watchlist.
That is the gap. A 2022 stage. A 2026 revocation. Wilson and Steube said the financing was the story the whole time. The honest taxpayer paid for the ceremony. The visa just died.
Look every working father who still believes a watchlist is not a trophy case in the eye and answer this: if Iron Woman needed a revocation, who still owns the next award?
Comments
I sat a finance targeting cell. A budget shop is a weapon if the wrong names clear.
Revoke first. Brief Congress on the predicate. An award is not immunity.
Allied desks already treat Iraqi finance as a dual-use file. Copy that suspicion.
Aug. 9, 2025 wanted list plus a U.S. watchlist. The ceremony is the exhibit, not the defense.
My tax paid the stage lights. I want the visa dead and the file public.
Do not put a terror watchlist name on a courage plaque and call it diplomacy.
If the financing charge holds, this is an IRGC-adjacent ledger with a U.S. stamp. Follow the wires.
Fox printed 2022 IWOC, this week's revocation, Wilson/Steube, and the 2025 wanted list. Argue those nouns.
Keep her off the plane. Audit the award list. A medal is not a clearance.
