Blue state gov ignites online firestorm with plan to send gov't into homes of newborn babies: 'Lunatic libs'

Everybody gets a visit. Days or weeks. A state nurse on the linoleum.

Summary

  • Fox News reports Massachusetts Gov. Maura Healey, a Democrat, set off a weekend firestorm after discussing an expansion of the state's Welcome Family program on Boston Public Radio last week.
  • Healey said everybody in the state who has a baby will have a home visit within days or weeks so a healthcare provider can assess whether the family needs extra support and resources.
  • A Healey press release last week described the expansion as voluntary and meant to strengthen postpartum care and mental-health support, with earlier reach. Fox said it asked her office for comment.
  • Conservative host Howie Carr's post of the clip was viewed almost 2 million times. Rep. Nancy Mace, R-S.C., wrote that the government does not own a baby. Libs of TikTok's post calling the visitor a government-appointed assessor also passed 2 million views.

Commentary

A mill mom still rocks a Boston bassinet and knows a newborn night is supposed to mean her mother on the vinyl chair, not a state assessor on the linoleum. She did not pay the levy so 'everybody' could become a knock.

Everybody. Days. Weeks. Welcome Family. Voluntary on paper. Two million views twice. The linoleum in that triple-decker still remembers the first knock. The honest household already bought the overtime for the pediatrician it chose.

Look every working mother who still locks a Massachusetts porch after a night feed in the eye and answer this: if 'everybody' already sat in her sentence, who still owns the next bassinet a state visit tries to claim?

Everybody. Days or weeks. Welcome Family. Keep those three stamps.

I stood a gate so a newborn still meant a family. A state assessor is not a weather report.

Radio: everybody. Press release: voluntary. Print both.

Allied porches still treat a newborn visit as a choice, not a census.

Healey. Boston Public Radio. Two million views. File the three.

I still rock a bassinet at 2 a.m. I want the next knock to be kin.

A state nurse on the linoleum is not a vibe. It is a warning the street already paid.

An 'everybody' visit is a second border around every honest crib.

Fox printed everybody, voluntary, and Mace. Argue those nouns.

Keep it voluntary. Keep the door. A bassinet is not a souvenir.
