China expert warns Beijing wants Americans — not the CCP — to spread its message

Beijing does not need a podium. It needs an American nonprofit to say the same line.

Summary

  • Fox News reports the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on South and Central Asia held a Tuesday hearing titled Trojan Horses: Covert Foreign Malign Influence Operations in America, covering China, Cuba, and Iran.
  • Matthew Johnson of the Jamestown Foundation told Fox that Beijing's preferred outcome is American institutions and individuals repeating the Party line so the argument looks organic. He said a current priority is slowing U.S. AI and data-center buildout.
  • Fox previously reported Shanghai-based Neville Roy Singham directed at least $285 million into six pro-China, pro-communist nonprofits beginning in 2017, including CodePink. Singham and the groups deny taking direction from the Chinese government and have not been charged.
  • Chairman Bill Huizenga, R-Mich., told Fox the hearing is meant to expose operations that undermine national security, capitalism, and the American Dream. CodePink has run a China Is Not Our Enemy campaign while protesting U.S. policy on China, Cuba, and Israel.

Commentary

A plant dad still smells flux on a work glove and knows a town-hall mic is supposed to belong to the people who pay the lights. He did not fund a 501(c) so Beijing could rent an American accent.

$285 million into six shops. A hearing named Trojan Horses. An expert saying the best trick is a homegrown voice. The honest household already paid the tax. The cold rain on the Capitol steps still hits the same workers.

Look every working father who still wants an American debate in the eye and answer this: if the Party line sounds better coming from a U.S. nonprofit, who still owns the next hearing on AI power?

Trojan Horses hearing. $285 million. CodePink. Keep that order.

I stood a post so a briefing still meant an American brief. A rented accent is not consent.

Johnson. Huizenga. Singham. No charges yet. Print the four and the denial.

Allied capitals still treat a foreign influence shop as a security file, not a salon.

Slow the data centers. Steer the academics. File the method Johnson named.

I still clock a plant at 2 a.m. I want the next AI fight run by Americans, not a cutout.

A China-is-not-the-enemy slogan is not a civics class. It is a warning the street already paid.

A homegrown front is a second border around a committee room.

Fox printed Johnson, $285 million, and the denial. Argue those nouns.

Name the funders. Keep the debate American. A nonprofit letterhead is not a shield.
