A dock dad still fuels a skiff off the Aleutians and knows a research hull is supposed to mean a chart, not an unannounced cut through the EEZ. He did not pay the levy so Xue Long could treat the Bering like a driveway.
Four this year. Five all last year. One cutter on Frontier Sentinel. The vinyl seat on that Munro deck still holds the salt from a silent transit.
Look every working father who still locks an Alaska porch after a night shift in the eye and answer this: if four hulls already ran the Bering with no notice, who still owns the next Chukchi crust a research flag tries to map?

I stood a gate so a research flag still meant a notice. A silent Bering cut is not a weather report.
