A deli owner still wipes a steel counter and walks a kid past a door that needed a lock after October 7. He did not pay party dues so the state's top prosecutor could ask him to pawn his own safety.
That is the gap. A closed-door caucus. A climate lecture over a living country. A Senate hopeful who still will not fund the ally. The honest dad already paid the synagogue guard. The speech paid the guilt.
Look every working father who still stands outside a Saturday service in the eye and answer this: if safety is the thing you are told to sacrifice, who still owns the door?
