A deputy in a Bexar County parking lot still wipes dust off a cruiser hood before a night of domestics and wrecks. 287(g) is how that deputy can ask a simple question and call ICE when the answer is a lie. Castro and Casar want six small towns to pretend that question is the crime.
That is the gap. State law says jails participate. Two House Democrats say hometown police must not. They used the word brutality. The towns used the word Task Force. One of those is a statute. The other is a press conference.
Ask every parent in Von Ormy: if Texas already wrote the jail rule, why do two men in Washington get to dare your city to break it?
