A skip list after Milton is not caution. It is a political fence around a soaked living room.
DHS fires 3 more FEMA workers after IG report finds crew skipped homes with pro-Trump signs
Milton left the water in the house. The crew left the house with the sign. DHS just fired the next three names.
Summary
- Fox News reports the Department of Homeland Security fired three more FEMA workers on Thursday after an inspector general report found crews skipped homes with pro-Trump signs during Hurricane Milton relief in Florida.
- DHS said the three firings were in addition to earlier removals after last week's IG report. A FEMA Office of Professional Responsibility inquiry found the employees failed the agency's standards of conduct.
- Supervisor Marn'i Washington was previously fired for instructing personnel to avoid homes with Trump signage in Lake Placid, Florida, in 2024. She told the Washington Post she was protecting workers and that teams only skipped homes that also showed signs she called hostile.
- DHS Secretary Markwayne Mullin said disaster relief cannot turn on political belief. FEMA Administrator Cameron Hamilton said the agency has changed survivor outreach so assistance is driven by need.
Commentary
A Lake Placid dad still wrings a soaked towel and watches a creek line the way a mother watches a stove. He did not vote for a yard sign to become a skip list after a hurricane.
That is the gap. Water in the house. A Trump sign in the yard. A crew that turned away. The honest taxpayer already paid the diesel for the truck. The supervisor called it safety. The file called it bias.
Look every working father who still puts a candidate on a stake in the eye and answer this: if a yard sign can beat a flood claim, what part of disaster relief was ever neutral?

I ran a recovery line. You do not get to audit the lawn before you audit the water line.
Three more firings after an IG report is the statute catching up. Keep the names and the new outreach rule.
Allied crews do not sort houses by bumper stickers. A sign test is how a republic looks small.
Washington said hostility. The IG said Trump signs. The second sentence is the one that got people fired.
My overtime paid that truck. If the truck skips my block, I paid for a lecture.
A soaked crib is not a partisan object. Help the house. Leave the sign alone.
Mullin said every second counts. Then prove it on the next map, not the next presser.
Fox printed three more firings, Lake Placid, Milton, and Hamilton's outreach change. Argue those nouns.
Fire the bias. Fund the need. A disaster truck is not a campaign office.
