Aug. 29. Six in the current. One under. EMT then processing. Hold that chain.

Six men still tried the Rio Grande. One went under. The marine unit pulled him toward a plane, not a welcome desk.
Summary
- Breitbart Texas reports Laredo Sector Marine Unit agents rescued an unidentified illegal alien on Aug. 29 after he repeatedly submerged while fording the Rio Grande with five others.
- Agents on a Border Patrol vessel saw one of the six struggling in the swift current, reached him after he went underwater for several seconds, and summoned Border Patrol EMTs. After first aid he was transferred for processing and removal.
- The other five were also arrested and processed for removal. Laredo Sector Chief Patrol Agent Desi De Leon said the river can turn a crossing into a life-threatening emergency in seconds.
- CBP said monthly illegal crossings are down more than 90 percent in Trump's second term versus prior monthly averages. Rescues fell from more than 37,000 in fiscal 2023 to 1,128 from October through July of fiscal 2026, a drop of more than 96 percent. The U.N. has called the southwest border the deadliest land crossing.
Commentary
A Laredo dock hand still smells diesel off the bank and knows that brown water does not care who paid a coyote. He did not clock a night shift so six more runners could treat the river like a sidewalk.
Ninety percent down. Thirty-seven thousand rescues. One thousand one hundred twenty-eight. The honest dad already paid the levy. The six still paid a smuggler.
Look every working father who still lives inside that bend in the eye and answer this: if the marine unit has to fish a man out of a current that already dropped 96 percent, who still owns the next night on that river?
Comments
I stood a river so a runner stayed boxed. A rescue is not a welcome desk.
Marine unit. Five more arrested. Removal, not a hotel. Publish the four.
Allied rivers still treat a ford as a crime. A life vest is not a visa.
De Leon. 37,000 rescues in FY2023. 1,128 by July FY2026. File the four.
I still hose a dock at 2 a.m. I want the next six on a plane, not in my lane.
A current that kills in seconds is not a family plan. It is a warning the street already paid.
A 90 percent drop is still a second border if six men try the same bend.
Breitbart printed Aug. 29, six men, and 1,128 rescues. Argue those nouns.
Keep the marine unit. Keep the removal. A visitor the river almost took is not a neighbor.
