A Uvalde dad still feels rail heat through a boot sole and knows a freight car is supposed to haul steel, not a locked invoice for a cartel. He did not pay the levy so a child would bake behind an auto-hauler latch.
Monday: three locked. August 30: eight locked, one a child. Seven dead in the earlier indictment. The honest household already paid the crossing tax. The asphalt still cooks while a smuggler sells a sealed door.
Look every working father who still waves a school bus past a siding in the eye and answer this: if the cartel still locks people in 100-degree steel after the crossings fell, who still owns the next latch on that train?
