House GOP report details how Dem fundraising platform ActBlue allowed illegal foreign donations

They counted the digits on a passport. They did not check a single government database.

Summary

  • The New York Post reports a House Republican report from the Oversight, Judiciary, and Administration Committees found ActBlue let overseas money flow to U.S. campaigns with barely the appearance of proper vetting.
  • New documents showed ActBlue's fraud safeguards, including passport verification, could be bypassed easily by foreign actors, the committees said.
  • An ActBlue customer-service page quoted in the report said the platform uses some very basic validation, number of characters, to ensure the number entered is a valid passport number, but does not verify the information in any other way.
  • The same page said ActBlue does not check the information against a government database. It merely stores the information and continues with the contribution flow.

Commentary

A shop dad still drops a twenty in a church plate and knows a campaign dollar is supposed to come from a citizen, not a typed string. He did not itemize a W-2 so a platform could count digits and call it vetting.

Three committees. Character count. No government database. The honest household already bought the disclosure form. The linoleum in that campaign shop still sticks.

Look every working father who still writes a legal check in the eye and answer this: if a passport already passed on digit count alone, who still owns the next foreign string a citizen was supposed to outvote?

ActBlue. Character count. No database. Keep the three.

I stood a watch so a dollar still meant a citizen. A digit string is not a passport.

Oversight. Judiciary. Administration. Print the three chairs.

Allied desks still treat a foreign gift as an exit, not a tip jar.

Store the number. Continue the flow. File the quote.

I still write a legal twenty after a double. I want the next gift to match a citizen file.

A digit check is not vetting. It is a warning the street already paid.

A bypassed passport is a second border around every race.

The Post printed the character-count page. Argue that noun.

Match the database. Kill the string. A campaign dollar is not a souvenir.
