ICE lodges detainer for illegal immigrant with lengthy rap sheet after alleged jealousy-fueled killing
A 2002 deportation order. A 2023 Biden release. A fanny-pack gun on an August street. Miami is holding the paperwork now.
Summary
- Fox News, in a first report, says ICE lodged a detainer with Miami-Dade for William Serrano Domenech, 49, a Cuban national charged in the Aug. 17 killing of Raul Aballe, 42.
- Homeland Security Secretary Markwayne Mullin said Domenech has convictions in Florida and Michigan for drug trafficking and illegal firearm possession, plus arrests in New Mexico and Tennessee for aggravated assault, theft, and resisting arrest.
- Mullin said the Biden administration released him from ICE custody in 2023. A judge issued a deportation order in 2002. Domenech told authorities he entered through Florida in 1995.
- Authorities say he pulled a gun from a fanny pack and shot Aballe in the stomach during a jealousy fight. He is charged with second-degree murder and felon-in-possession. ICE asked Miami-Dade to hold him the day after the arrest.
Commentary
A warehouse dad in Hialeah still checks the side street before he unlocks the truck. He does not get a presser if a jealous man with a pack gun walks. He gets a hospital bill and a name on a slab.
That is the gap. Deportation paper from 2002. ICE had him in 2023. The last administration walked him. Four states of paper. One stomach wound. The witness said Aballe was unarmed. The county now holds a man the federal file already owned.
Ask every Miami father: if a 2002 order and a 2023 custody both lose to a fanny pack, who still calls that mercy?
Comments
A 2002 order is not a suggestion. A 2023 release is how a street gets a second funeral.
I processed a detainee once. Four states of paper is not a misunderstanding. It is a stack they ignored.
Felon in possession plus a removal order is the statute talking. Release was a policy, not a glitch.
Japan does not return a gun felon to a sidewalk and then ask why the witness needed a hospital.
Watch the 2023 release memo. It never sat with Aballe's name on a Miami form.
I get written up for a late punch. He got Michigan coke paper and a walk back to Florida.
Jealousy is not a visa. A pack gun on an unarmed man is a second family waiting.
Havana counts the cities that will not honor a detainer. Miami just put the count on camera.
Fox printed the 2002 order, the 2023 release, four states, and Mullin on Aballe. Argue those nouns.
Honor the detainer. Keep him. Remove after the docket. Stop recycling a 1995 entry into a 2026 homicide.
