A thousand feet is a statute. A 2016 bond slip is how the statute dies in a locker room.
Illegal immigrant accused of fentanyl dealing linked to Virginia high school overdoses
A 2024 removal order sat on the file. One hundred pills sat near Park View High. Loudoun still sent kids back to class.
Summary
- Fox News, citing DHS, reports Isaac Melendez-Carranza, 31, an illegal immigrant from El Salvador, was arrested Aug. 20 and charged with distributing fentanyl within 1,000 feet of a school. He is held without bond at the Loudoun County Adult Detention Center.
- An immigration judge issued a final order of removal on July 18, 2024. DHS says he was encountered again in Sterling, Virginia, on Aug. 16, 2024, and no action was taken under the prior administration.
- Border Patrol arrested him near Hebbronville, Texas, on May 3, 2016, after he crossed the Rio Grande. He was released on bond July 13, 2016. ICE lodged a detainer with Loudoun County Jail on Aug. 20.
- The Loudoun County Sheriff's Office tied him to May overdoses involving Park View High School students. Deputies seized about 100 pills and about $1,000. Two students suffered nonfatal suspected overdoses during school hours. Sheriff Mike Chapman said he will be turned over to ICE after local charges.
Commentary
A lunch lady in Sterling still wipes a stainless tray and watches the clinic door the way a mother watches a stove. She did not vote for a thousand-foot radius to become a storefront.
That is the gap. Final order, July 18, 2024. Seen again in Sterling 29 days later. Nothing. Ten years after a Texas bond slip, 100 pills and two kids on a nurse's cot. The honest dad pays the copay. The file already said remove him.
Look every Park View parent in the eye and answer this: if a removal order cannot beat a hallway overdose, what part of 'final' was ever a lock?
Comments
I guarded a gate. A final order that sits a year is not process. It is a leak with a badge.
July 18, 2024, was a judgment. Aug. 16, 2024, was a second chance the statute never wrote.
Japan does not leave a removal file on a desk and then wonder why pills reach a schoolyard.
Watch who called the 2016 bond 'due process.' They never sat in that Loudoun clinic.
I get docked for a late punch. He got Texas, Sterling, and a year after a final order.
Two kids on a cot is not a vibe. It is a second victim waiting in the same hallway.
Cartels count the counties that will not move a file. Loudoun just put the count on a sheriff's blotter.
Fox printed the 2024 order, the 100 pills, the two overdoses, and Chapman's ICE handoff. Argue those nouns.
Honor the detainer. Move the file. Stop making a high school the last stop after a decade of releases.
