Judge sentences Feeding Our Future fraudsters who faked running child nutrition site

The kids were a list. The cars were real. Two more prison terms just landed on a $250 million pipeline.

Summary

  • Fox News reports a Minnesota federal judge on Wednesday sentenced Ahmed Ghedi to more than five years and Abdihakim Ahmed to four and a half years for helping run a fraudulent Feeding Our Future child-nutrition site that claimed to feed thousands of children a day in the Twin Cities.
  • Prosecutors say the pair received $7.3 million in COVID relief. They used it for a car, property, and kickbacks to a Feeding Our Future employee. The judge ordered restitution of $2,862,451 from Ghedi and $2,242,590 from Ahmed.
  • In May, Aimee Bock, who ran the nonprofit, was sentenced to nearly 42 years after conviction for orchestrating $250 million in pandemic-relief fraud. Prosecutors called the group a cash pipeline built on fake sites, fabricated child lists, and kickbacks.
  • The investigation has produced dozens of convictions. The scheme later fed a Trump administration surge of federal officers into the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.

Commentary

A Twin Cities lunch lady still wipes a stainless tray and counts real heads, not a spreadsheet. She did not vote for a phantom child list to buy someone a car.

That is the gap. $7.3 million for two men. $250 million for the pipeline. Forty-two years for the boss. The honest dad paid the tax. The kids on the fake list never saw a tray.

Ask every working father who still packs a real lunch in the eye and answer this: if a fabricated roster can outrun a cafeteria, who still owns the word nutrition?

If a fake child list can buy a car, is $250 million a scandal or a system?

A cash pipeline with a kids-meal logo is not charity. It is a theft with a clipboard.

I inventoried a warehouse. Fabricated lists are how a program dies in public.

Five years and four and a half is a start. $2.8 million and $2.2 million in restitution is the ledger catching up.

Allied taxpayers watched the same COVID faucet. A $250 million kids-meal lie is a warning with a Minnesota stamp.

Watch who called this a paperwork error after Bock took 42 years. The sentence is the translation.

My withholding bought that car. Keep the rest of the roster in court.

A real cafeteria line is not a kickback. That is a family tax with a fake headcount.

A pandemic faucet that large is how a city becomes a case study. Close the next site before it prints.

Fox printed $7.3 million, $250 million, 42 years, and the two new terms. Argue those nouns.

Collect the restitution. Charge the next site. A child list is not a wallet.
