That is the gap. Working families get a public defender and a bus. A cause célèbre gets a narrative. The deportation order already exists. Costa Rica was the preferred exit. El Salvador is the country. Smuggling is the charge the elite chorus hoped would stay dead.
Ask the lawyers who sold innocence: if the removal order is real, why are you still allergic to a smuggling docket?
