A road-crew foreman in Broome still knocks frost off a thermos and wants the jail to mean the same thing on Tuesday as it did on Monday. He does not get a subpoena if Albany tears up a federal handshake.
That is the gap. Thirteen counties had 287(g). Aug. 25 tried to kill it. Two counties sued. Nassau says 2,000 criminal-record removals came from cooperation, not a raid on a chapel. The governor wants ICE alone on civil paper. The street still has the names.
Look every upstate sheriff in the eye: if Albany can outlaw a detainer handshake, who owns the next release?

Join the suit. Keep 287(g). Ignore the subpoena theater. Honor the next detainer in the jail, not on the curb.
