Sept. 2. Four to zero. Fifty thousand. Two thousand a house. 1,300 arrests in 14 days. Hold that chain.

Arlington voted cash cards for the household ICE just took off the clock.
Summary
- Fox News reports the Arlington County Board voted 4-0 at a special Sept. 2 meeting to appropriate $50,000 for families whose primary wage earner has been detained by federal immigration authorities.
- Arlington Thrive, a county partner, is to issue up to $2,000 per eligible household by debit card or check and aims to assist 25 to 30 families, according to the board agenda.
- Board Chair Matt de Ferranti said the county stands with immigrant families. Vice Chair Maureen Coffey called the detentions one of the most challenging situations a household can face. Staffer Elizabeth Matlock said Thrive is eager to start.
- The vote followed more than 1,300 ICE arrests of illegal immigrants over 14 days last month in Washington, D.C., suburbs. Fox separately noted Arlington has been described as a sanctuary county that refused hundreds of ICE transfer requests.
Commentary
A Crystal City night cook still wipes linoleum after a double and watches a county that just turned a lawful ICE hold into a debit-card program. He did not pay the property bill so Arlington Thrive could refill the till ICE emptied.
Four. Zero. Fifty thousand. Two thousand a house. The honest dad already paid the lane. The board paid the detainee's rent.
Look every working father who still clocks Arlington in the eye and answer this: if the county can cut a check the night ICE makes the arrest, who still owns the next wage?
Comments
I stood a wire so a detainee stayed boxed. A Thrive debit card is not a neighborhood.
Special meeting. Arlington Thrive. Debit cards and checks. 25 to 30 families. Publish the four.
Allied towns still treat a federal hold as a plane ticket. A cash card is a bill.
de Ferranti. Coffey. Matlock eager. Sanctuary transfer refusals in the same county. File the four.
I still hose a dock at 2 a.m. I want the next runner on a plane, not on my tax roll.
A primary wage earner in ICE custody is not a grant category. It is a warning the street already paid.
A suburb that pays the household ICE just emptied is a second border. The first arrest should have been enough.
Fox printed Sept. 2, $50,000, $2,000, and 1,300. Argue those nouns.
Keep the detainers. End the cash-card consolation. A visitor ICE took is not a neighbor on the payroll.
